Twente and Pafos are at opposite ends of the UEFA Conference League table, with the Dutch side looking to preserve their 100% record in their debut league phase campaign in this competition.

Match News and Current Form

Having won both of their league phase games so far this season, Twente will now be targeting three successive wins at the start of a major European main draw campaign for the very first time. A 9-0 pummeling of Excelsior at the weekend - their biggest-ever victory in the Eredivisie - served as the perfect warm-up as they bid to stretch their winning run in major European home action to four matches. Things haven’t been as plain sailing at home this term for John van den Brom’s men though, with three of their four defeats in the current campaign coming at De Grolsch Veste.

After impressively reaching the last 16 in their debut Conference League campaign two seasons ago, Pafos have a tough job on their hands if they are to repeat that feat this term. The Cypriot side have just one point to their name in this league phase, with those two matches forming part of a five-game run without a competitive win (D4, L1). Pafos can’t gain much inspiration from their main draw European away record either, having failed to win any of their last nine such encounters (D4, L5) and losing each of their last three in succession.

Head-to-Head History

Twente have never met a Cypriot side before, and the same is true for Pafos with Dutch teams.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Twente scored after half-time in six of their last seven European matches.

The team scoring first won five of Twente’s last six home games.

Pafos’ last five European matches saw both sides score.

Pafos conceded three of their four goals in this league phase campaign before half-time.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Wout Weghorst got four of Twente’s nine goals against Excelsior and has avoided being on the losing side in his eight scoring appearances this season (W6, D2). Pafos’ Lelê may be a prime candidate to get on the scoresheet here having netted his last five club goals away from their home venue.

Twente don’t seem to have any fresh absentees, while Pafos’ Biel missed the Apollon game.

Betting Analysis

Given their recent form, Twente to score after half-time and win here seems like a smart approach.
